Crossovers and SUVs used to be seen as practical vehicles that customers buy for their daily commute, but in recent years, luxury and sports car makers have turned their attention to this segment.
Luxury SUVs are available from Bentley (as Bentley Bentayga appeared back in 2015), Lamborghini (so Lamborghini Urus launched production in 2018), Rolls-Royce (as Rolls-Royce Cullinan began production in 2018), Aston Martin (so Aston Martin DBX introduced in the fall 2019). Ferrari delayed the debut of its first crossover, but 2022 is time for the Purosangue SUV to be revealed.
The company's plans to release a crossover had known back in 2018. Since then, little has known about the future novelty. As previously reported, the model is likely to receive the name Purosangue: translated from Italian, this word means "purebred, thoroughbred." The factory index of the first Ferrari crossover is F175.
There is no official information about the technical characteristics of the new Ferrari SUV yet. It is assumed that the Ferrari Purosangue will receive an adjustable air suspension. According to preliminary data, the first versions of the crossover with a hybrid power plant, which is based on a 4.0-liter V8 engine, will appear on sale. The total output of this system is likely to be 700 hp. It is possible that the top version will be equipped with an 800-horsepower V12 engine.
